The focus of Ron’s varied litigation practice is defence work and coverage. An avid, bilingual litigator, he has extensive experience in pleading a wide range of liability and damages issues of particular interest to the insurance industry, including product liability, latent defects, construction claims, professional liability, D&O, E&O, fires, explosions and boiler and machinery failures.
In his coverage practice he prides himself in being a wordsmith, analyzing a gamut of coverage issues from the simple and straight-forward to the complex and arcane and explaining them in easy-to-understand language. A frequent speaker, he has given conferences to his clients and professional peers on a number of different topics over the years, including product liability, builders’ risk insurance policies, defamation, privacy, trial advocacy, evidential burden of proof, prescription (limitations) and allocation of defence costs.
He has been listed in the publication “The Best Lawyers in Canada” since 2006 in the field of Insurance law.
Ron has a keen interest in local, national and international current events.
